I am very happy to announce that my first bedding pieces are now available as a capsule collection. Designing my own bedlinen has been a dream for as long as l can remember and I am happy to now share it with you. My bedding is made to love and last, mix and match, and is printed on 100% organic cotton in a silky soft sateen weave. The prints are a mix of my favourites and layer well with my silk pillowcases and bespoke one of a kind cushions, all proudly made in Melbourne.

Safari Living in Prahran has been one of my favourite stores for years. Founded

by Felicity Rulikowski, it is an Aladdin’s cave of treasures. Felicity’s passion for

design and her sense of colour and style is inspiring, and is ever present in her

thoughtfully curated collection of interiors, textiles, homewares and furnishing. l

have held onto a desire for many years to have my creations sitting amongst it

all.

And now, lucky me ... l have collaborated with Felicity to design a small home

collection in my Paisley design, exclusively for Safari Living. We hope this is just

the first of many more collaborations for Safari Living. 

I love the process of collaborations, working alongside like-minded people and

seeing my designs interpreted in a different medium.

One of my favourite design partnerships has been with Designer Rugs, a

company whose focus on design and exceptional quality sits well with my own

values. It was a wonderful process, looking back over my archives and creating

the rug collection ‘Voyage’.

I began by selecting some of my favourite designs, reinterpreting them for hand

tufting and playing with scale, colour combinations and creating anew.

Working closely with Designer Rugs, l learnt about how the handmade rugs are

constructed, discovered new techniques and embraced the challenge of working

within certain production limitations … all enhancing my own design journey.

How lucky am I to have my very own personalised stationery! 

Putting together a range of greeting cards, gift cards and bookmarks with Scooter Cards was a trip down memory lane for me, a lovely reminder of past fashion and homeware collections.

I love the process of collaboration and designing with someone special in mind.

The brief was simple and inspiring:

"Please make me a quilt in my favourite colour to throw over my couch and bed and if possible please incorporate my hand embroidered Indian Kantha quilt".

Searching through my archive fabrics and making a selection

I create new fabric by patching together smaller textiles l have designed and collected over the years.

I love creating from my remnant fabrics, it means nothing goes to waste, and it then becomes a piece that has a history and tells a story.

Part of my design philosophy is to create multi functional pieces that can be worn or used in different ways.

The Kantha quilt becomes the base that l work upon, adding my patchwork to the wrong side, making the quilt reversible.

Finished quilt complete with cushions...l had some left over patches so l couldn't  stop myself!

the upside of this, when it comes to my remnants, is that l have become an extreme textile environmentalist …what follows is an example of my zero waste policy!

I find it hard to throw away the smallest off cut…each fabric remnant displays a bit of my creative history, l love reminiscing on designs gone past…and l will often rummage through my fabric tubs for design and colour inspiration
